Estate Tax - Simulation Model

With the support of the American's for a Fair Estate Tax coalition, The Tax Policy Center has recently developed a new, state of the art, micro-simulation model of the estate tax. This new tool will allow the TPC experts to simulate alternate scenarios for the estate tax, including various reform options such as changes to the exemption level, tax rates, and QFOBI changes.

Senate Votes to Continue Internet Tax Ban

On April 29, under heavy pressure by the telecommunications industry, the Senate voted 93-3 on S. 150 a bill that extends the moratorium on Internet access taxes for four years from its expiration date of November 1, 2003.

Estate Tax Lobby Day

Americans for a Fair Estate Tax in partnership with United for a Fair Economy and the Fair Taxes for All coalition is working to organize people throughout the country to come to Washington DC on March 9-10 to speak out against permanent repeal of the estate tax.

Nonprofits have a special interest in the estate tax, since a full repeal would mean the removal of an important incentive to give to charity. The Brookings/Urban Tax Policy Center recently estimated that a repeal of the estate tax would lead to an estimated $10 billion annual reduction in charitable giving.
