Zients Easily Clears Senate Committee Vote

Earlier today, Jeffrey D. Zients came one step closer to becoming the government's first-ever Chief Performance Officer when the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved his nomination.

His nomination now moves to the full Senate, which has yet to officially schedule the vote.  If approved, Zients faces a long list of priorities including the improvement of government performance measures and the impending retirement of significant numbers of federal workers.
