Editorials on the Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act
by Amanda Adams*, 3/17/2009
Editorials have appeared in newspapers around the country calling on the Senate to pass the Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act. An editorial from the Salt Lake City Tribune states:
The archaic process is the same every year: Senate candidates electronically track the contributions they receive, print out the forms and hand them to the Senate secretary, who hands them to the Federal Elections Commission, which hires someone to type up the data electronically again. The cost: $250,000.
And Guam's Pacific Daily News published an op-ed by Sunlight Foundation's Ellen Miller adamantly supporting the measure. You can help out with this effort by visiting Pass S.482.com and by asking your senators to support the bill.
