Charities and philanthropies will speak out on ways to have more oversight and governance within the nonprofit sector at a Field Meeting at the Westin - Southfield (1500 Town Center) on April 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in Southfield, MI. The Field Meeting is sponsored by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Council of Michigan Foundations, the Kresge Foundation, the Michigan Nonprofit Association and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, on behalf of the Panel on the Nonprofit Sector. The Panel, created at the encouragement of the Senate Finance Committee, is inviting feedback from charitable organizations as part of their commitment to provide the U.S. Senate Finance Committee with recommendations regarding good governance and ethical practice.
