THREE APPROPRIATIONS MARKUPS SET FOR NEXT WEEK

The House Appropriations Committee plans three subcommittee markups the week of May 31. The Defense, Interior and Homeland Security appropriations subcommittees are tentatively scheduled to mark up draft versions of their fiscal 2005 spending bills, a House GOP appropriations aide said today. No action is expected on any of the measures before June 2, but after that, the aide said, appropriators expect to be either marking up bills, appearing before the Rules Committee or on the floor with spending legislation every day throughout June and July, including Mondays and Fridays.
