OMB Watch Welcomes Randy Rabinowitz as Director of Regulatory Policy

WASHINGTON, March 1, 2012—OMB Watch is proud to welcome Randy Rabinowitz as its next director of regulatory policy. She will begin work March 2.

An expert on worker safety, administrative law, asbestos policy, and product liability issues, Rabinowitz brings a wealth of experience working on diverse aspects of the regulatory system. She has worked with a number of federal agencies and committees – including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Congressional Budget Office, and the House Education and Labor Committee – as well as various labor unions and nonprofit groups. She has also served as a consultant on health and safety issues for state agencies in Michigan and Washington State.

Rabinowitz is an active member of the American Bar Association, having co-chaired its Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee, and she has also served as an adjunct professor at the Washington College of Law at American University.

Katherine McFate, president of OMB Watch, said, "We're thrilled to have Randy on board. She has in-depth knowledge of the details of regulatory processes and is committed to ensuring the strength and viability of our system of public protections. Her understanding of the federal rulemaking system and how it interacts with the states will enrich our programs and allow us to provide valuable expertise to our allies in the Coalition for Sensible Safeguards, members of the media, and the American public."
