Center for Effective Government Welcomes Ronald White as Director of Regulatory Policy

WASHINGTON, Sept. 3, 2013—The Center for Effective Government is proud to welcome Ronald White as director of regulatory policy.

An expert on air pollution and health policy, chemical and nanotechnology risks, and environmental justice, White brings years of experience on regulatory policy at the state and federal levels. He serves on the State of Maryland Air Quality Control Advisory Council and has worked with a number of federal advisory committees – including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee, the EPA Science Advisory Board, and the National Research Council Committee on Research Priorities for Airborne Particulate Matter. He spent many years in senior positions at the American Lung Association and has also worked at the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

White also serves as part-time faculty in the Departments of Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology, and Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Katherine McFate, president of the Center for Effective Government, said, "We're excited to have Ron on board. He has in-depth knowledge of regulatory policy and is committed to advocating for effective, common sense standards and safeguards that protect all of us. His understanding of the federal rulemaking system and his expertise on the intersection of environmental and health policy will greatly benefit our work and allow us to provide valuable insights to our allies in the Coalition for Sensible Safeguards, members of the media, and the American people."
